The two outdoor installation works incorporate the Korean folding screen as their primary medium. The first installation, 〈Doves〉, consists of a wooden screen with four panels, each hosting paintings of hybrid pigeons. The second installation occupies a room within a temporary structure, combining three pigeon paintings, a six-panel folding screen, and an arrangement of soil, rocks, branches, and spray paint collected from the surrounding area.
The imagery on the folding screens envisions an artificial ecosystem in which these hybrid pigeons might live—an imagined space situated between life and decay, expressed through the tonal vocabulary of ink.

Hybrid Pigeon Drawings, 2021, Ink and colored pencil on paper, each 15×8cm

As a methodology derived from the Rat with Wing series, these works are based on a large database of collected pigeon images and developed through drawing. The process begins by assigning symbolic codes to the collected pigeon images, then selecting two to three pigeons according to these codes. Finally, this selection process is documented through drawing.

These works are derived from the methodology developed for the Rat with Wing series.
The process is based on a large database of collected pigeon images and unfolds as follows:

  1. Assign symbolic codes to the collected pigeon images.

  2. Select 2–3 pigeons based on their assigned codes.

  3. Document the selection process through drawing.

  4. Finally, translate the resulting hybrid pigeon into a life-size panel work.
